Cotton drives in six as Hitmen defeat Redfield

FAULKTON – Layne Cotton and Jhett Kleinsasser combined for four doubles and nine RBI as the Faulkton Hitmen defeated Redfield 11-4 in American Legion baseball action Thursday night.

Cotton had a pair of bases-loaded doubles to drive in six runs. He cleared the bases in a three-run fourth inning and in a four-run fifth inning.

Kleinsasser delivered an RBI double and later stole home in the second, and then added a two-run double in the third as the hosts jumped in front 4-0.

Redfield scored all of its runs in the top of the fifth as Noah Johnson drove in a run with a single, and Elijah Morrissette plated another with a double. The other runs scored on errors.
