OMAHA, Neb. – Once again Groton scored first, but its opponent responded in a big way during the squad’s final game of the Battle of Omaha Tournament. Groton fell to the Perhman (Minn.) Buzz 8-2 in American Legion baseball action Wednesday afternoon.

Like it had in its previous game in the tourney, Groton jumped in front, scoring two runs in the top of the third inning.

Brevin Fliehs doubled and a pair of walks loaded the bases before Colby Dunker drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Dillon Abeln then came home on a balk.

However, that lead was short lived as Perham scored four times in the bottom third on an Evan Kovash two-run double and a pair of sac flies.

The Minnesota squad then scored twice in the fourth and fifth innings for the final margin of difference.

A trio of Perham pitchers combined to record 11 strikeouts, but also issued seven walks.

Four different players each had one hit for Groton.
