Braun finishes second, wins third straight points title

SIOUX FALLS – Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun finished runner-up at the South Dakota Golf Association Sanford Tour Championship at Minnehaha Country Club on Monday. She also wrapped up her third straight Sanford Series Points Championship.

Braun, who won four Sanford Tour events this summer, shot a round of 75 to finish one stroke behind Mitchell’s Allison Meyerink, and one stroke ahead of Miller’s Jayce Pugh in third place.

Brynn Roehrich, who golfs for Clark-Willow Lake, finished in fifth place, six strokes off the pace.

Watertown’s Jake Olson won the boys’ division with a 68, one stroke better than Riley Christensen of Sioux Falls.

Monday’s event wrapped up the Sanford Tour series for the summer. It featured the top 12 point earners throughout the summer.
