Blanchard, Ravellette lead Eagles during opening tourney

SIOUX FALLS – The Aberdeen Central boys’ golf team posted a team score of 342 on Tuesday to round out the 2-day Warrior/Lynx Invite in 15th place in the team standings.

Tuesday’s round was contested at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls, where the Golden Eagles were unable to improve on Monday’s opening score of 332 at Brandon Golf Course.

Jackson Ravellette carded the best round of the day for the Golden Eagles, finishing the Willow Run course in 82 strokes. Carter Blanchard was one stroke back with an 83, and had the best two-day total for Central with his total of 162. Ravellette notched a total score of 165.

Kalen Larson and Ben Phillips also came in under the 90-stroke mark with an 88 and an 89, respectively, on Tuesday.

In the team standings, Watertown recorded identical rounds of 293 to claim the overall team title by five strokes over Harrisburg.

Harrisburg’s Charlie Swift was the overall medalist with a total score of 140, holding off Brandon Valley’s Carter Peterson by two strokes. The top four finishers in the tournament were separated by just three strokes.

Central will head to Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre Tuesday for the Pierre Invitational.
