TULARE – Aberdeen Christian gave third-rated Hitchcock-Tulare a battle, but could not overcome the Patriots’ front line, falling in straight sets 25-16, 25-15 and 25-20 in non-conference volleyball action Tuesday night.

The loss snapped a three-match win streak for the Knights, who are now 6-4 on the season.

“I’m super proud of the girls sticking with (Hitchcock-Tulare),” said Christian coach Sara Powell. “HT is tough and has some really great hitters.”

The Patriot attack was led by Katelyn Schroeder, who had 11 of the team’s 35 total kills. Schroeder also finished with 19 digs and a service ace, while Ella Johnson notched six kills and three aces.

Christian got five kills apiece from Arianna Johnson and Jolie Fogarty. Fogarty also had eight digs, as did Sawyer Schwan. Alexis Isakson had 13 digs to lead the defensive effort for the Knights.

“Our errors really hurt us, but defensively, I’m proud of the girls,” Powell said.
