Braun finishes runner-up at Phoenix Junior Open

MESA, Ariz. – Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun took second place at the Phoenix Junior Open on Monday.

The junior at Aberdeen Central shot a tournament best round of 67 on Monday at Toka Sticks Golf Club to finish with a 54-hole total of 218, just three strokes off the pace of tourney winner Nicole Iniakov of Prunedale, Calif. Braun had rounds of 76 and 75 to start the three-day tourney.

Braun and Iniakov know each other after both played at Pebble Beach this past fall.

There were four boys from Sioux Falls that also played in the Phoenix Junior Open. Jayden Antonen was fourth in the Boys 16-18 division. Quinton Hollan tied for 24th, and Colton Clark tied for 29th. Braxton Hollan was runner-up in the Boys 14-15 division.
