SIOUX FALLS - The Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers closed their season with a flurry during the final day of competition at the Class A State Tennis Tournament in Sioux Falls.
Roncalli won all four of its matches on the day to grab two consolation championships and a fifth place spot on the way to moving up one position in the team points. The Cavaliers finished eighth with 104 points. Mitchell won the team title.
"I was very proud of our girls' performance today," said Roncalli coach Hallie Rohrbach. "It felt more ourselves than (Monday) and that's the best way to end any tournament is feeling like you played 'your game' well."
Hallie Haskell won the consolation championship at top flight singles, Katherine Kretchman and Eva Madsen were consolation champs at flight three doubles, and Haskell and Maria Barnett won a pair of matches to finish fifth at top flight doubles.
Haskell doubled up her opponent 10-5 to win her consolation title.
