Welcome to SD SportScene. Thank you for being a part of the state’s newest sports website. Dave Vilhauer (45 years) and John Davis (36 years) have a combined 80 years of experience in covering sports in the region.

SD SportScene started out as a site focusing primarily on high schools in the northeast part of the state. It includes the Northeast Conference, the Lake Region Conference, Aberdeen Central, and a few other regional schools. There is also some coverage of Northern State and the Aberdeen Wings as well and we link to their websites right off our home page. We also cover club sports like the Aberdeen Cougars, Aberdeen Smittys, and the Aberdeen Swim Club.

Each day there will be content on the site that we hope you will find useful, unique and well worth your time.

The goal is to have the site full of the latest information by 6 a.m. on the days it is published. Of course, if there is major breaking news, we will get that information on the site as quickly as possible.

We will not be at every single event, but we will attempt to provide the best coverage possible with the limited personnel that we have. This site will be a work in progress. There will undoubtedly be a few glitches along the way, but rest assured, every effort will be given to help ensure that SD SportScene will provide accurate, insightful and timely information in the most useful and entertaining way that we can.
